French round bronze ’borne type’ table clock of Napoleon III. period. Heavy round case topped by an urn and on right and left side of housing for the movement two heads of the devils, symbol for the evil, while on the base two pigeons represent the love.  8 day spring wound movement of Paris type with glass cover, half and full hour striking on bell, locking-plate striking system, anchor escapement, brass dial with white enameled inlaid cartouches  with Roman numerals, steel pendulum suspension spring with fine adjustement from the front of the case by turning the square-end above the dial. Movement marked on back plate by its manufacturer :  S. Marti et Cie, MÉDAILLE DE BRONZE. Look at: TARDY Dictionnaire Des Horlogers Francais, 1971, page 435.

Measurements of case:  height x width x depth: approx: 32 cm x 30 cm x 23 cm – weight of clock: 7,2 KG.

This clock was made around 1870. Mini key for pendulum adjustment must be replaced during restoration work.  For the other parts we guarantee that they all originally fit together.
