French Morbier clock of Napoleon III. period. Pressed brass arch shaped dial surrounding with a rural scene of vintage. 30 days string wound and weight driven movement with anchor escapement, lyre pendulum with 27 cm diameter bob, half and full hour striking on bell, rack striking system, with repetition of full hour, enamel dial with Roman hour numerals. Instead of usual signature on the dial the seller of this clock wrote his name on a signboard of the pendulum: SALVAING A REVELMF & S. brevetés S.G.D.G.( Manufacturier & Successeur brevetés S.G.D.G. = Sans Garantie Du Gouvernement ).
